Thomas Bastien graduated in engineering from the École Supérieure d’Agriculture d’Angers (France). He also holds a master’s in genetics from Wageningen University in the Netherlands. After having worked for 4 years in a PR company, Mr. Bastien joined the Museum in 2012, with the first expansion of the educational and social and community areas. He worked in communications as Press Officer and as Assistant Director –Partnerships with the MMFA Foundation. In this role, he developed major fundraising projects for programmes such as The Art of Continuing to Grow for people aged 65 and over, The Art of Being Unique for people with autism spectrum disorders. Over the past five years, education and community programmes have been among his main priorities.
He is now Director of Education and Wellness with a team of 50 employees and the support of 170 docents to welcome every year more than 300,000 participants to several types of activities.
