Center for Research, Innovation and Transfer in Circus Arts (CRITAC)

Patrice Aubertin holds the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada’s Industrial Research Chair in Circus Arts and is Director of the Center for Research, Innovation and Transfer in Circus Arts affiliated with the National Circus School of Montreal. His applied research and social innovation projects focus particularly on the physical, psychosocial and creative impacts of circus arts practice on both young people and professionals. Before joining the SNT, he worked for ten years with Cirque du Soleil as acrobatic coach and designer, senior coordinator for artist training and director of research and development – new creative projects. Prior to that, he worked in the fields of sports, visual arts, and music.
