Dr. Brunet has been working in the health and social services field for more than thirty years. He has been President and Chief Executive Officer of the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM) since September 2015. Previously, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of CHU Sainte-Justine from January 2009 to September 2018 and CEO of both hospital centres from September 2015 to 2018. On July 14, 2018, he was made a Chevalier de la Légion d’honneur by France for his entire career in the healthcare field. His main research interests include hospital management and health system integration, artificial intelligence, medical communication and information technologies, continuous improvement of quality of care and patient safety, international collaboration and transfer of know-how, among others. His many achievements include the construction of a clinical research program in critical care and a cardiac surgery centre in Paris, a hospital project in St. Petersburg, Russia, and the creation of a university intensive care and resuscitation centre in Toronto.
