Alfons Calderón is acting Director at the Government of Quebec Office for the Iberian Peninsula in Barcelona where he has been economic and business development officer since 1999. He is the former Project Manager for the American Division at the Catalonia Office of Foreign Investment. He had previously worked at the Barcelona Governance Project at ESADE sponsored by the United Nations University, and at the Commercial Office of the Spanish Embassy in Paris. He is a former trainee of the European Commission in Brussels.

In the academic field, Alfons Calderon has done research and has been teaching on management, trade and international business policy at different university centers, especially ESADE, in Barcelona. He is co-author of several books and has published articles and lectured on international relations, strategy and the European Union.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Science and an MBA from ESADE. He also has a degree in Business Administration and Management from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and a Master’s degree in International Management from the Community of European Management Schools (CEMS). He has followed post-graduate studies in International Economy at the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED).

Alfons Calderón has also a cooperation experience record with NGO’s in several developing countries.
